Abstract
A farmer in South India applied for a loan of Rs.1,50,000 for the purchase of pumpset to a leading bank of South India. He had 111 acres of l of which 15 acres were wet. There was adequate rainfall in the area; he wanted to use the pumpset only to provide irrigation whenever there was scarcity of rainfall. The Branch Manger was wondering how to appraise the loan proposal.
